Following the launch of our brand-new Warragul Digital Billboard, the Gawk team ventured out to Gippsland from our various locations to take a trip up to Warragul. Being a 3-hour drive for most of us, the journey started bright and early with a hot coffee and some tunes to help us out.
The Ridge House in Yarragon was our home for the week. A beautiful farmhouse retreat, sitting on 50 acres of land within the West Gippsland bushland. The whole team was amazed by the beautiful feel of the location and appreciated the little goodies left for us! Including some delicious homemade pasta sauce made from tomatoes out of their own farm as well as some decadent sweets.
The first day in Warragul included getting to know the town. We finally got to see our brand-new electronic billboard on Queen St, which was super rewarding for the whole team. Getting to see all out hard work pay off, as well as all the locals advertising, really made it all worth it!
On the second day, we hit the road and took a day trip out to Morwell and Traralgon to cover some more ground while we’re here. We also got to look at some more of our killer sites! During the day we made a visit to Norm’s Workshop, a local legend who does some amazing work on the building of our billboards. Getting a behind the scenes look of how it all comes together really opened our eyes to the amount of effort that’s put in but not always seen!
On the way back into Warragul, the team made a quick pitstop to The Spud Shed. Our director Luke Course swears by this place and promises they have the best produce in Victoria! The shed included an extensive grocery with a huge range of products as well as their own fresh, home-grown produce.
We finished out last night off with a visit to the local pub, The Railway Hotel. This was decided upon through a day of polling locals of the best dinner spot in town. The whole team enjoyed a lovely meal and of course a few cheeky bevs too…
We’re so lucky to be able to travel to so many different locations as apart of our job. Regional Victoria is a beautiful place and there is so much to be explored! Look out for some more road trip stories from us…
